If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the best days on Amelia Island aren’t overplanned.
They’re the ones where you give yourself a loose outline, leave room for a few detours, and let the day unfold as it goes. A girls’ day here has a way of feeling easy from the start and somehow even better by the end.
Here’s how we’d spend it, and how we always tell our customers to do it too.
Start Slow
We always say, start your day slower than you think you should.
Grab a coffee, take a walk on the beach while it’s still quiet, or wander downtown before everything fully opens. There’s something about those early hours here that feels calm in a way you don’t want to rush through. It sets the tone for everything that comes next.
Take Your Time Shopping
Once you’re ready, make your way through downtown Fernandina Beach and pop into a few shops along the way. This is not power shopping. This is the kind where you take your time, pick things up, talk about them, put them back, and then circle around for them later.
If you stop into Twisted Sisters (we hope you do), you’ll find the pieces we’ve chosen with that exact kind of day in mind, easy, thoughtful, and the kind of things you’ll actually use, wear, or gift later on.
Let Lunch Linger
By the time you’ve made your way through a few shops, it’s probably time to sit down somewhere. Find a spot outside if you can, order something fresh, and don’t rush it. Add a cocktail, order another appetizer, stay a little longer than you planned. We’ve always believed this is where the best parts of the day happen, the conversations, the laughs, the “we should do this more often” moments.
Our Favorite Lunch Spots:
- 4th Street Deli
- Hola Cuban Cafe

- The Happy Tomato Courtyard Cafè & BBQ
- T-rays Burger Station
Reset by the Water
After lunch, head back toward the beach.
Lay out a towel, take a walk, or just sit for a bit and take it all in. You don’t need much for this part, maybe a book, maybe just each other. There’s no right way to do it. It’s just about giving yourself time to slow down again.
Ease Into the Evening
As the sun starts to set, decide what feels right.
Sometimes that looks like dinner downtown, sometimes it’s one more drink somewhere you can linger, and sometimes it’s as simple as a beachside moment you don’t want to end. That’s the thing about Amelia Island—there’s no pressure to make it perfect. It just kind of is.
Our Favorite Dinner Spots:
- Wicked Bao
- Mezcal Spirit of Oaxaca
- The Boat House
- Espana Restaurant & Tapas
- David’s Restaurant & Lounge
From Us to You
We built Twisted Sisters around days like this. Days that feel easy, thoughtful, and a little more intentional than the rest. Days where what you pick up—whether it’s something for yourself or someone else—becomes part of a memory, not just a purchase.
So if you’re planning a girls’ day, this is our advice: don’t overthink it. Start slow, take your time, and leave space for the best parts to happen naturally. We’ll be here if you stop by.
With love,
The Sisters at Twisted Sisters
